In time for the observance of Holy Week, a joint team from the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Moalboal Market Administration successfully conducted a price monitoring and price-tagging inspection at the Moalboal Public Market. The initiative forms part of the government’s effort to ensure that essential goods remain affordable and that market transactions are transparent and fair, especially during a period of increased consumer demand.
The inspection focused on enforcing the mandatory use of clear and visible price tags on all goods sold in the market, in compliance with national consumer protection and trade laws. By strictly requiring proper price tagging, the team aimed to prevent “hidden prices,” discourage overpricing, and promote an informed and fair shopping experience for all Moalboalanon consumers.
Through this coordinated operation, the DA, DTI, and Market Administration reaffirmed their commitment to safeguard consumer welfare, uphold fair trade practices, and maintain an honest and orderly marketplace. Market vendors are reminded to consistently display accurate price tags and adhere to existing regulations, as continued monitoring and similar inspections will be undertaken to ensure full compliance.
For reports of noncompliance with price-tagging rules or incidents of overpricing, the public is encouraged to email the Municipality of Moalboal or send a message to this official Facebook page so that appropriate action can be taken.
