The Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) of the Municipality of Moalboal swiftly responded to the call of Municipal Mayor Inocentes G. Cabaron to intensify monitoring of prices and supply of basic necessities and prime commodities in the locality. Representatives of the council were immediately mobilized to visit public and private markets and check actual price movements and the availability of key goods for consumers.
Acting under the mandate of Executive Order No. 9, Series of 2026, which reorganizes the LPCC of Moalboal, the council members coordinated with various concerned offices and agencies to conduct on-site inspections and gather data from local establishments. Their tasks include verifying compliance with suggested retail prices, monitoring any unusual price increases, and validating stocks of essential commodities to help prevent overpricing, hoarding, and other unfair trade practices.
Mayor Cabaron underscored the commitment of the local government to protect consumer welfare and maintain fair and stable market conditions in Moalboal. He emphasized that the LPCC will sustain heightened monitoring activities and recommend appropriate measures to national and implementing agencies whenever necessary to address unwarranted price increases and supply issues. The public is encouraged to cooperate by reporting any suspected irregularities to the municipal government or LPCC member offices for prompt action.
