Mayor Inocentes G. Cabaron met with Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro on February 2, 2026 at the Governor’s Office to discuss priority infrastructure projects that will shape Moalboal’s development trajectory. Centerpiece topics of the dialogue were the municipality’s planned community ports and the road that connects Argao to Moalboal, both seen as vital arteries for improved mobility, trade, and visitor access in southern Cebu.
During the meeting, Mayor Cabaron underscored that reliable community port facilities will strengthen linkages between coastal barangays, neighboring municipalities, and key tourism circuits, enabling local fishers, small businesses, and transport operators to move goods and people more efficiently. The Argao–Moalboal road, once fully upgraded and optimized, is envisioned to shorten travel time from eastern to western Cebu, offering tourists a more convenient route to Moalboal’s diving sites, beaches, and emerging commercial hubs.
Governor Baricuatro reaffirmed the Provincial Government’s commitment to support local infrastructure that aligns with Cebu’s broader tourism and economic roadmap, emphasizing that strategic road and port investments in growth municipalities like Moalboal generate spillover benefits for adjoining towns. She also highlighted the importance of coordinating with national agencies and stakeholders to ensure that planning, funding, and implementation of the projects follow technical standards and deliver long-term resilience.
