Mayor Inocentes “Titing” Cabaron met with National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Regional Director Jocelyn O. Tabotabo, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Nachito V. Baylon Jr., DMO Monette Zuñiga, and Dr. Romeo Pableo, President of the Senior Citizens Association, to further strengthen programs and services for the elderly in Moalboal. The meeting underscored the strong partnership between the local government, the NCSC, and the Moalboal Rural Health Unit in ensuring that senior citizens remain healthy, active, and well supported.
During the monthly federation meetings, senior citizens already benefit from medical services such as consultations and vital signs monitoring conducted in coordination with the Moalboal Rural Health Unit. These regular services aim to provide early detection of illnesses, ensure continuous access to maintenance medication, and give seniors a dedicated space to raise their health concerns. The group agreed to sustain and further improve these frontline health services for indigent and vulnerable elderly residents.
To complement the medical services, the LGU is also planning to put in the pipeline a Senior Citizens’ Playground at the Senior Citizens Center, featuring stationary bikes and other low‑impact exercise equipment, along with a regular “Wellness Day” for the elderly. These initiatives are envisioned to promote physical activity, social interaction, and mental well‑being among Moalboalanon seniors. Mayor Cabaron expressed his full support for these wellness projects, emphasizing that caring for older persons is a priority of his administration.
