Mayor Inocentes G. Cabaron beamed with pride as he welcomed the Moalboal athletes who won medals in the recently concluded Provincial Meet held in Carcar City during a courtesy call on Feb. 23, 2026.
Moalboal finished at eighth overall, with 17 gold medals, five silvers and 10 bronze medals in the annual meet that will determine Cebu Province’s representatives in the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association meet. The 2026 campaign was a stark improvement from 2025, when Moalboal finished at 22nd overall with two gold medals, 16 silvers and 14 bronzes.
“Thank you for bringing honor to Moalboal. It is through your efforts and that of the coaches and school heads that we made it to the top 10,” Mayor Cabaron told the athletes. “Of course, we should not be contented with this and should continue to aim higher.”
Mayor Cabaron also vowed to give logistical support to the archers who made the Cviraa. Moalboal won most of its medals in archery (12 golds) and dancesports (six golds.) The elementary boys volleyball team also won a silver medal, while the girls volleyball team got a bronze medal.
After their courtesy call, the athletes, together with their teachers, coaches and trainers, were treated to a meal at Jollibee.
