The Municipality of Moalboal officially jumpstarted its 2025 business compliance initiatives through a comprehensive Labor Standards Orientation held at the Tomonoy Gym, Tomonoy, Moalboal, Cebu. The activity, conducted in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region VII, gathered business owners and establishment representatives for sessions on General Labor Standards, Occupational Safety and Health Standards, and Alien Employment Permit requirements.
DOLE-7 Regional Director Sheila Marie Cagang delivered the keynote message, underscoring DOLE’s commitment to strengthening compliance and protecting workers across the region. Technical inputs were provided by Luna Sheryll Javier on General Labor Standards, DOLE Labor Inspectors on OSH Standards, and Cagang herself on Alien Employment Permit processes. Sectoral insights were also shared by Felicito P. Pono Jr., PIO Rudy Sagar Jr., and Engr. Elmer Riconalla, highlighting the importance of collaboration between government, employers, and workers.
The event was organized in close coordination with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Moalboal, led by PESO Manager‑Designate Salvador Balicoco, together with PESO staff Novy Ann A. Espiritu, Claudette Joy T. Talledo, and Aldeon B. Rabanal. The PESO team ensured smooth facilitation and participant engagement throughout the activity. The orientation concluded with a TAV Checklist and Action Planning session, equipping establishments with concrete steps to enhance workplace compliance and contribute to a thriving local economy.
