The Municipal Government of Moalboal, through its Business Process and Licensing Office, conducted a Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Digital Signature Orientation for the Executive Department on March 24, 2026 at the Municipal Social Hall.
The activity forms part of the LGU’s digital transformation efforts to make frontline and backroom transactions more secure, efficient, and responsive to the needs of citizens and local businesses.
During the orientation, resource speakers discussed the fundamentals of PNPKI, the role of digital certificates, and the legal bases for electronic and digital signatures in government, while demonstrating their practical application in permits, licenses, and internal documents.
Participants were guided on the enrollment and installation process for their digital certificates and shown how digitally signed documents help ensure authenticity, integrity, and accountability in electronic transactions.
Mayor Inocentes G. Cabaron commended the Business Process and Licensing Office through its head, Emmylou Cabonilas for spearheading the initiative and underscored that secure digital signatures are vital to improving ease of doing business and strengthening public trust in local governance. He encouraged all municipal offices to fully adopt PNPKI in their operations so that Moalboal can deliver faster, paperless, and more transparent services to its constituents.
