The Municipality of Moalboal has been recognized as a High-Functioning Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) in the 2025 Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Audit conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region VII. This recognition affirms the municipality’s strong adherence to national standards on drug demand and supply reduction, as well as its consistent implementation of prevention, rehabilitation, and community-based interventions.
The citation is formally contained in Cebu Provincial Board Resolution No. 871-2026, which extends congratulations to the municipalities of Alcantara, Alegria, Malabuyoc, Moalboal, and Ronda in the Seventh Legislative District of Cebu for exemplary performance in anti-drug abuse programs. The Resolution underscores the role of Anti-Drug Abuse Councils as institutional mechanisms mandated under the law and related DILG–DDB issuances to strengthen local initiatives through regular performance audits.
Moalboal’s inclusion among the Province of Cebu’s high-performing MADACs reflects the effective leadership of municipal officials, the active coordination of law enforcement agencies and partner institutions, and the strong participation of the community in maintaining a safe and drug-free environment. The Municipal Government reiterates its commitment to sustaining these gains and further enhancing local strategies to protect the youth, safeguard public order, and promote the general welfare of all Moalboalanons.
