The Department of Agriculture–Regional Field Office VII has officially informed the Municipality of Moalboal that three Farm‑to‑Market Road (FMR) projects have been included in the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for Fiscal Year 2026. With a combined allocation of ₱35 million, the projects will benefit Barangays Lanao, Bala, Batadbatad, and Buguil—enhancing agricultural mobility and improving access for upland communities.
The projects include the concreting of Sitio Lower Lanao FMR (₱15 million), the construction of the Brgy. Bugho–Brgy. Bala FMR (₱10 million), and the construction of the Brgy. Batadbatad–Brgy. Buguil FMR (₱10 million). These improvements are expected to ease the transport of goods, reduce travel time, and strengthen economic linkages between farmers and local markets. The DA has requested the LGU’s assistance in settling Road Right‑of‑Way (RROW) concerns to ensure smooth and timely implementation.
Mayor Inocentes G. Cabaron welcomed the development, calling it “a strong sign of progress and improved accessibility” as Moalboal continues its transition toward becoming a smart municipality driven by efficient mobility and data‑guided governance. Municipal Engineer Katrina Anne Lisondra likewise expressed optimism, saying the LGU is “elated by this progress and purpose,” noting that improved road networks will not only uplift agricultural communities but also support the municipality’s tourism projects and access routes. The LGU reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating RROW processes to ensure the benefits reach residents and visitors alike.
The P35 million project is not the only road-concreting project for the upland barangays this year as Mayor Cabaron is also paying particular attention to Batadbatad. The other road concreting projects in Batadbatad will be announced soon.
