Moalboal suffered its first loss to favorites Dumanjug, 82-68, in the 1st Calderon Cup at the Ronda Sports Complex on March 27, 2028.
Dumanjug, which routed Ronda 99-77 in its home opener, cruised to an early 14-4 lead just five minutes in before settling to a 27-15 advantage at half time.
Moalboal managed to cut the lead to nine, 55-46, early in the third but Dumanjug proved to much as the early favorites went up by as much as 20, 80-60, to seal its second straight win.
Jhon Ryan Abines led Moalboal with 24 points, while Klent Sabac and Kian Chym Garol combined for 23 points. Moalboal will return to action in Cong Patsy Calderon’s grassroots sports program on April 12 when it hosts Alcantara.
In the second game, host Ronda fed off the energy of its home crowd to beat Alcantara, 90-59.
