The Municipal Government of Moalboal, through the Municipal Agriculture Office, successfully sent trained dog catchers to the Municipality of Badian for the Training for Dog Catchers held on March 13, 2026 in Badian, Cebu.
The Moalboal team headed by Animal Caretaker Joel Cabasag conducted a live demonstration on proper and humane dog‑catching techniques, highlighting the use of appropriate equipment, calm handling of animals, and safe coordination during impounding operations in line with national rabies control and animal welfare standards. Personnel of Badian’s Municipal Agriculture Office and other concerned offices observed and practiced the procedures as part of the municipality’s preparation for full implementation of its dog impounding program.
Mayor Inocentes G. Cabaron commended the participating staff for sharing their expertise with a neighboring LGU and underscored Moalboal’s commitment to responsible pet ownership, rabies prevention, and humane dog population management. “Inter‑LGU cooperation like this strengthens our collective effort to keep communities safe from rabies while ensuring that animals are treated humanely,” the Mayor said (for confirmation).
The activity also served as a venue to exchange best practices on dog registration, vaccination, and coordination with barangays and the province, in support of ongoing programs toward a rabies‑free Cebu and improved animal welfare services.
