The Municipality of Moalboal proudly marked the culmination of the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration with a vibrant program at the Moalboal Covered Court on March 27, 2026, bringing together women leaders, grassroots volunteers, and partner agencies in a united call for gender equality and an inclusive society. Rooted in the national banner “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society” and the sub-theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, the event paid tribute to women as wise, courageous, and compassionate leaders who continue to guide families and communities toward hope and progress.
Through inspiring messages, a lecture on laws protecting women and children, and the recognition of outstanding women and organizations, the celebration affirmed that women’s rights are human rights and that every Moalboalanon shares responsibility in building safe, empowering spaces for women and girls.
Colorful presentations and a friendly dance competition among women’s groups added joy and energy to the occasion, reminding everyone that when women rise, the whole community moves forward together. Aside from the competition, Board Member Paz “Lingling” Rozgoni also sponsored a raffle for the participants.
Vice Mayor Jinky Hanika lauded the dedication of Moalboal’s women—in homes, workplaces, and public service—emphasizing that the town’s dream of a just, peaceful, and prosperous future can only be achieved when women and men walk side by side as equal partners in decision-making and development. She reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to sustain gender-responsive programs beyond Women’s Month, so that every day in Moalboal becomes an opportunity to honor, protect, and empower women as modern-day Babaylans shaping the town’s destiny.
