Mayor Inocentes Cabaron and MLGOO Lyn Aguelo meet with sports committee members Rodolpho Borja, Romeo Pableo, Marvin Dio, Restituto Arong, Roel Macasero and Vivencio Delgado Jr. to finalize the 1st Academic and Sports Enhancement Program for Moalboal students, teachers and residents.
The program, which will have chess, arnis, tennis, table tennis, swimming, volleyball, badminton, and basketball, as well as painting, music, campus journalism and a capability-building seminar for teacher-coaches, will kick off with an opening ceremony on July 8 at the Municipal Gym.
The basketball training will have three phases, a referees and coaches clinic and a training for 21-Under and 15-Under players. The participants in the basketball training will be nominated by the barangay captains as each barangay is allotted five slots for the referees and coaches clinic and 30 for the 21-under and 15-under teams.
The coaches capability seminar, which will be conducted by Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu athletic director Jon Ralph Inot and DepEd Cebu City sports coordinator Franics Ramirez is for coaches and teachers of Moalboal schools. The campus journalism seminar will also be for the teachers and will be led by professional journalists.
For the rest of the events, interested participants may register at the Mayor’s Office starting on June 26. Participants need to bring a photocopy of the voter’s certificate of one parent and must fill out a waiver and medical certificate.
