In a town famed for its marine beauty and close-knit community, one mother’s humble snack is quietly making waves.
Victoria Cantila Thomas, a single mom and community leader, turned a simple saba banana into Angellee’s Saba Stick—a chewy, caramelized treat born from love, necessity, and faith.
In 2024, while preparing for the Agrifair, Victoria wanted to showcase something meaningful. Inspired by tradition and guided by simplicity, she crafted the snack using local saba bananas. “It had to come from the heart,” she says.
Named after her daughter, Angellee Marie, the product quickly gained attention for its nostalgic flavor and heartfelt story. From an initial batch of 100, production has doubled, thanks to growing demand and Victoria’s grassroots efforts.
Balancing her role as Barangay Treasurer and entrepreneur, Victoria proves that with creativity and love, even the simplest ideas can flourish.
Angellee’s Saba Stick isn’t just a snack—it’s a story of strength, tradition, and a mother’s dream.
